Fall Build Season: 3 Tips to Streamline Projects

In This Article

Fall is one of the busiest build seasons of the year. Our team pulled together some quick tips to help your crews save time, reduce callbacks, and keep projects moving.

1. Plan Ahead for Required Inspections

  • Every new home service program requires at least two inspections (Rough + Final).
  • Skipping or delaying the Rough (pre-sheetrock) inspection can mean losing incentive eligibility.

Pro Tip: Build these inspections into your project schedule up front so they don’t become last-minute delays.

2. Schedule Early & Communicate

  • Email scheduling@southern-energy.com at least 3 days in advance to lock in your inspections.
  • If plans change, cancel by 5:30 PM the day before to avoid fees.

Pro Tip: Assign one point of contact on your team to manage scheduling so nothing slips through the cracks.

3. Make Sure the Home is Ready

  • Rough: Draft stop and insulation must be complete before we arrive.
  • Final: HVAC start-up, power, weatherstripping, attic sealing, and door hardware should all be in place.

Pro Tip: Double-check readiness before the inspection to avoid re-inspection fees and keep projects moving.
