In 2024, North Carolina’s solar landscape was brighter than ever. Thanks to Duke Energy’s PowerPair Program and other incentives, our state held on to its spot as 4th in national solar installations, giving everyone here even more reason to be proud of leading the change. We also explored new financing options and embraced new products like Powerwall 3, Enphase, and Franklin APower2 to bring more accessible clean energy solutions to our communities. Behind all this progress were our incredible teams in sales, operations, installation, and solar support, who grew in numbers while seeking solutions together in creative ways to strengthen our internal processes, making this year’s successes feel truly shared and celebrated.

That’s enough to power every home in Chapel Hill for nearly 3 months

💸 $8.45 Million in First-Year Savings
That’s the equivalent of providing a year’s worth of free electricity for 4,700 North Carolina homes
(it is also equivalent to the cost of 218 Ford F-150s)

In 2024, our Builders Energy Services team navigated a dynamic landscape shaped by the transition to ENERGY STAR v3.2 standards and ongoing shifts related to the 2021 IECC. Keeping pace with industry changes, we introduced HVAC Grading Design Services to help lower HERS scores and secure more HERO funding – practical steps that translate into tangible benefits for our clients and communities. We are proud to have helped our partners capture an average incentive value of $2,360 in 2024, for a total of $4,770,950 in HERO rebates processed by our team.Driving all this progress forward were the 39 raters on our field team! Their energy and hard work ensured that we continued to lead the way in building more efficient, comfortable, and sustainable homes.

💸 $12.1 Million in First-Year Savings

In 2024, the multifamily and commercial world buzzed with industry updates, from new HUD incentives to the launch of Fitwel v3, LEED v5, and a new version of Green Globes. On top of that, our multifamily and solar teams came together to form the dream team, bringing solar to life on 2 new projects with 6 more on the way. It was a great year to be in the green building industry, and we’re excited to have added life cycle analysis as part of our services – another step toward more sustainable homes for everyone. 

What makes all of this progress feel truly special are the team members who went above and beyond to expand their expertise. This year, we’re celebrating the following new accreditations, each one earned through hours of learning and dedication: Water Rating Index Verifier, EarthCraft Technical Advisor, WELL AP, RESNET HERS Modeler, RESNET Rating Field Inspector, Green Globes Professional, ENERGY STAR Verifier, NGBS Verifier.

  • 117 paid volunteer hours used

  • $3,455+ donated to local community partners

In 2024, we proudly celebrated 15 years as a certified B Corporation — a significant milestone made possible by the incredible support of our fellow B Corps. Our team also had the opportunity to attend the Annual B Corporation Conference in Atlanta, Georgia, where we connected, learned, and grew alongside our community.
