Once you’re happy with your solar proposal and have signed your contract to partner with us, our in-house team sprints into action to make your on-paper solar energy system a reality on your roof (or ground). Here is a general overview of the next stops en route to your sunny future of solar savings.
The next chapter of your solar journey kicks off with a Technical Site Assessment (TSA) of your home. Our field engineer will stop by to take final measurements and gather all the electrical information needed to ensure the dream system we’ve outlined on paper will fit and power up as expected when brought to life. We’ll send these specs to our engineering team to produce the final stamped engineered designs.
Next you’ll be introduced to your project manager. They will be your go-to point of contact and main resource for information about your project from this point forward.
Your solar dream team gets to work securing the right permits from your utility and local inspections department and ordering all the equipment for
your solar project. This phase generally lasts 60-90 days depending on permitting requirements and shuffling around our installation queue to accommodate for mother nature’s unpredictable visits. While you’re patiently waiting through this less than glamorous stage, there’s a lot of paperwork filing and hoop jumping going on behind the scenes.
This is the fun part! We’ll work with you to schedule a time-frame to install your solar system. Our in-house solar crew will complete the racking construction, panel and inverter installation, and all the wiring necessary to power your home with the sun. All this happens without you lifting a finger (unless it’s summer and you decide to make our install team some ice cold lemonade).
After your beautiful new solar system is installed, there are a few more boxes to check before your system’s all set to make clean energy for the next several decades. First, your local jurisdiction will inspect the completed system. Once they sign off on the system, a Certificate of Completion (CoC) will be sent to your utility, providing notification that the system passed your local jurisdiction’s inspection.
Almost there! Once all the inspection and interconnection ducks are in a row, the last pit stop on your solar journey is to have your meter swapped. Your utility provider will install a fancy new bi-directional meter on your home to measure the kWh production of your solar system so you can be credited for the energy your system produces.
Before we turn you loose, your solar designer will stop by one more time to provide a system orientation, show you the ropes of your monitoring app(s), review tax and financial information, walk you through what your utility bill will look like, and answer any lingering questions you may have.
Congratulations, your solar journey is complete! Your system is up and running generating clean solar energy everyday. Now you can sit back and enjoy the financial and environmental benefits of solar for the next 30+ years!
Going solar is easy especially when you have the right team on your side!
