Gizmo Brew Works x Southern Energy Management + Hope Renovations
We believe that businesses (and beer) can come together to be a force for good in the world. That’s why we’ve partnered with Gizmo to brew a beer with more than just hops!
A few years ago we made the exciting move to our current SEM home on Triangle Drive in Raleigh, NC. What made this move even more exciting was knowing that Gizmo Brew Works was right next door. For the past number of years, Gizmo has been our home away from home – offering a relaxed space for our teams to collaborate during the day and connect at the end of one.
As many of you know, we at SEM work hard and we play just as hard. With a team of avid beer enthusiasts who also have a passion for supporting our community and environment, it only makes sense to collaborate with our friends and neighbors at Gizmo on a beer (hopefully our first of many)!
We’ve gotten to know the awesome team at Gizmo well and couldn’t be more excited to partner with them on this brew. To top it off, we are crafting the ultimate trifecta by having our wonderful community partner, Hope Renovations, join the mix! Proceeds from this collab brew will benefit Hope Renovation’s training program designed to give underemployed women and gender minorities the skills to enter the construction trades confidently.

Based out of Carrboro, NC, Hope Renovations’ mission is to inspire hope in women and older adults for a joyful and fulfilling future. There are three focuses to this mission: empowering underemployed women and gender minorities to pursue living-wage careers in the construction trades, providing repairs and renovations that enable older adults to age in their homes, and filling a workforce shortage for trades employers with a new generation of talented tradespeople.

Since 2021, Southern Energy Management has been proud to partner with Hope Renovations by providing building performance and solar training, job shadowing opportunities, and financial support!
Now let’s introduce the brew of the hour… drum roll, please…
We harnessed the best BS (building science that is!) and clean, renewable solar power from our neighbors across the street at Southern Energy Management to ensure sustainable flavor ’til the last drop. Topped with ample amounts of hope and empowerment supplied by our friends at Hope Renovations, the result is an easy-drinking summer ale with hints of orange zest and a finish that tastes like a better, brighter future. So, grab a beer with your neighbor, do good, and SHINE ON!
A portion of the proceeds from this collaboration brew will benefit Hope Renovations’ new evening construction trades training program for underemployed women and gender minorities.
This summer, Rays of Hope will be available on tap at all Gizmo locations and for purchase from Harris Teeter, Lowes Foods, Fresh Market, and bottle shops across the Triangle!
To celebrate this limited edition brew release, we’ll be throwing a launch party at Gizmo’s Raleigh location on Friday, July 29th starting at 5 pm! Come out and celebrate with our team, Gizmo, and Hope Renovations!
