Edward Kidder Graham House

Custom built green home by Cimarron

About the Project

Originally constructed in 1908, the Edward Kidder Graham House is a Historic home
centered on UNC’s Campus. The renovation includes all new insulation, lighting,
appliances, mechanical systems, roofing, cedar shake siding and windows, while
salvaging 50% of the original flooring, reclaimed heart pine for remaining flooring,
refinished original interior doors and native landscaping. The home is pursuing Silver
Certification under the 2012 National Green Building Standards Remodeling
Certification Program, with an estimated 40.3% reduction in energy use and a 59%
increase in water efficiency based on the renovations! This piece of NC history is
ready for its next 100 years.
