Southern Energy Management Launches New Home Performance Services in the Triangle

Southern Energy Management Launches New Services that Help Residents in the Triangle Improve Comfort, Health and Energy Efficiency at Home. This week, the company began offering home performance analyses and home improvement services for residents in the Triangle.

MORRISVILLE, N.C. – Local sustainable energy company Southern Energy Management (SEM) announced today a new line of services aimed at helping people improve the comfort, health and energy efficiency of homes in the Triangle region of North Carolina.

The company’s new services, called Home Performance Analysis and Home Performance Improvements, provide homeowners with a comprehensive analysis of their home, and offer implementation of the solutions that will fix comfort or health problems as well as save money on energy bills. After nearly a decade of helping hundreds of homeowners with solar options, SEM is excited to be adding energy efficiency services to provide comprehensive energy solutions to the residential market.

“Our new services align perfectly with our goal of helping people make smart energy choices,” said SEM co-founder Bob Kingery. “Homeowners can save on their utility bills and reduce their carbon footprint at the same time. This is something we’ve been doing with commercial buildings for a long time, and we’ve found it very rewarding when we’re able to help companies create better work environments. It’s only natural that we would want to help people at home as well.”

During the analysis, which has a base price of $395, home performance specialists identify sources of unwanted airflow and pinpoint the causes of excess moisture. SEM also assesses where heat loss is occurring, and then provides clients with a clear view of opportunities for improvements, with a recommended action plan specific to each home.

“We’d recommend that to anybody,” said Raleigh resident Al Winston, who hired SEM to identify and resolve a comfort and health issue in his home. “In fact, I think everybody should have that done whether they have a problem or not, because they need to know about their house. It’s like part of the family: you live here, you spend so much time here, so much money. So you really need to know what’s in the house and any benefits or problems that may exist in it.”

After several months of successful testing, SEM is excited to unveil this new service along with home solar options to a broader audience. The company will be exhibiting in the Living Green Pavilion at the Southern Ideal Home Show at the North Carolina State Fairgrounds starting Friday, September 24th.
