Southern Energy Management awarded with Environment score in the top 10 percent of more than 2,100 Certified B Corporations
Today, Southern Energy Management was recognized for being among companies creating the most positive environmental impact based on an independent, comprehensive assessment administered by the nonprofit B Lab. We are being honored in the Best for the Environment list, which includes businesses that earned an Environment score in the top 10 percent of more than 2,100 Certified B Corporations on the B Impact Assessment. All of the data used for the assessment of this award has been third-part verified by B Lab.
We can proudly say we sit amongst the 846 elite movers and shakers of the corporate world named as 2017 Best for the World Honorees such as:

The Environment portion of the B Impact Assessment evaluates a company’s environmental performance through its facilities, materials, emissions, and resource and energy use. The assessment also measures whether a company’s products or services are designed to solve an environmental issue.
“Best for the Environment honorees like Southern Energy Management are redefining what it means to be an ‘environmentally-friendly’ business, ” says Jay Coen Gilbert, co-founder of B Lab. Here at Southern Energy Management we have a number of programs in place to not only make the workplace better but the world better such as our recycling and composting program, monitoring our energy usage, utilizing electric vehicles, using energy efficient lighting, and purchasing carbon offsets.
This award is especially thrilling as we have been a certified B Corp since 2009 through three recertifications, including an on site audit, in which the qualifications have become increasingly stringent. Despite the challenge that a B Corp certification offers, the need to constantly be improving and shifting captures our attitude as a company. Not only are we ambitious about changing the world through our services as a solar firm, but through our personal actions as a business and are proud to be in the top 10 percent in B Corporations for the Environment.
