Southern Energy Management EARNS 2021 ENERGY STAR® SUSTAINED EXCELLENCE and MARKET LEADER AWARDS

Energy Star Award Partner of the Year: Sustained Excellence Award

Southern Energy Management is proud to announce that it has received the 2021 ENERGY STAR Partner of the Year—Sustained Excellence Award and the 2021 ENERGY STAR Market Leader Award from the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency and the U.S. Department of Energy.

The Sustained Excellence award is the highest honor bestowed by the ENERGY STAR program. Winners are part of a distinguished group that has made a long-term commitment to fighting climate change and protecting public health through energy efficiency. They are among the nation’s leaders in driving value for the environment, the economy, and the American people.

Each year, the ENERGY STAR Residential New Construction program presents Market Leader Awards to outstanding partners who have made important contributions to energy-efficient construction and environmental protection by building or verifying a significant number of ENERGY STAR certified homes and apartments, or by sponsoring a local program that supported these activities during the previous year. More than 120,000 ENERGY STAR certified single-family homes and multifamily units were built in 2020, for a total exceeding 2 million homes since 1995.

Southern Energy Management has been certifying single family homes and multifamily units to the ENERGY STAR standard since 2003. Last year, the 900+ homes Southern Energy Management certified to ENERGY STAR collectively saved residents over $692,000 on their utility bills when compared to the average NC code built home.

“ENERGY STAR award-winning partners are showing the world that delivering real climate solutions makes good business sense and promotes job growth. Many of them have been doing it for years, inspiring all of us who are committed to tackling the climate crisis and leading the way to a clean energy economy.”

EPA Administrator, Michael S. Regan

Winners are selected from a network of thousands of ENERGY STAR partners. For a complete list of 2021 winners and more information about ENERGY STAR’s awards program, visit energystar.gov/awardwinners.
