Even though school’s back in session and autumn officially kicks off on September 22, there’s still time to soak up the last of North Carolina’s heat waves before everything starts smelling like pumpkin spice.

Sliding Rock 

Located in Pisgah National Forest near Brevard, Sliding Rock is nature’s own water slide. Glide down a 60-foot smooth rock and splash into a chilly pool. It’s like a water park, but better!
