2025 Year in Review: By the Numbers

In This Article

A summary of Southern Energy Management’s 2025 impact, with overall results and key metrics across solar, builder energy services, and multifamily and commercial projects.

In 2025, Southern Energy Management delivered energy efficiency and clean energy solutions across homes, multifamily communities, and commercial buildings throughout the Southeast.

Across all our work this year, we helped:

  • 49,502 families reduce energy use and costs
  • Avoid 326 million pounds of CO₂ emissions
  • Save 201 million kilowatt-hours of energy
  • Deliver $26.9 million in first-year energy savings
  • Achieve the equivalent of 31,151 cars removed from the road for one year

Below is how that impact breaks down across our three core areas of work.

Solar

Our solar team supports homeowners and businesses through system design, installation, and ongoing maintenance and repair. In 2025, solar continued to play a growing role in our overall impact.

  • 387 solar systems installed in 2025
  • 2,908 total solar systems installed to date
  • 38 battery systems deployed
  • 7.7 million pounds of CO₂ avoided through residential solar projects
  • 681,618 kWh saved annually through new residential solar systems

Over the lifetime of a typical residential solar system, homeowners can expect to save approximately $48,800, while reducing long-term energy use and emissions.

Builder Energy Services

Through our work with builders, we help ensure new homes meet energy code, perform efficiently, and deliver long-term savings to homeowners.

In 2025, Builder Energy Services delivered:

  • 19,682 homes rated
  • 142.6 million pounds of CO₂ avoided
  • Nearly 80 million kWh of energy saved through efficiency improvements
  • $10.7 million in first-year energy savings
  • Average first-year savings of $545 per home

This work supports both compliance and performance, helping builders deliver homes that are more efficient from day one.

Multifamily & Commercial Energy Services

Our Multifamily and Commercial Energy Services team works with developers, property managers, and building owners to improve performance at scale.

In 2025, this work included:

  • 28,257 apartment units certified
  • 175.1 million pounds of CO₂ avoided
  • 115 million kWh of energy saved
  • $15.4 million in first-year energy savings
  • Average annual savings of $546 per household

These projects reduce operating costs while improving efficiency across entire communities.
