Meet the Summer Shine On Champion from Mattamy Homes

We’re back with our next Shine On Champion announcement! If you are just joining us now, you might be wondering what exactly is a Shine On Champion? Each quarter, our Builder Services team dedicates a Shine On Champion award to someone we work with who exemplifies our core values — Seek Solutions, “Have to” shifts to “Get to”, Invest in the Greater Good, Never Settle, and Enjoy the Journey.
We are excited to continue with this tradition and introduce our Summer 2021 Shine On Champion, Rick Sargent of Mattamy Homes! For the past 4 years, we’ve been proud to partner with Mattamy Homes to verify their homes are built to more efficient standards under the ecoSelect program.
What Makes Rick a Shine On Champ?
Rick was nominated by our Building Performance Technician, Noah Hanley. Here’s what Noah had to say about Rick:
"Have to" shifts to "Get to"
Rick always has a smile on his face, even if we have to deliver bad news. He consistently shows his appreciation to our team and is just an overall positive guy. He’s quick to respond and is very receptive to suggestions. He’s even been an advocate in spreading our air sealing program to new neighborhoods.
If I had to choose a SHINE value to best represent Rick, it’d be “has to” shifts to “get to.” He truly cares about building a high-performing home — it isn’t just something he has to do, he approaches it as something he gets to do!
Rick is a clear crowd favorite and has also received 2 additional nominations during previous quarters:
Paul A. (former team member): “Rick has taken time to understand what I’m doing and has pushed hard to achieve his own level of great test results that he’s very proud of.”
