Guaranteed Savings and Comfort
Environments For LivingŪ is a national program administered by MASCO that builds on the Energy Star requirements, adding standards allowing them to guarantee the heating, cooling and comfort of the home. Homes that meet the Environments For LivingŪ Program Requirements have increased durability, enhanced indoor air quality, and manage excess internal moisture better than traditionally designed and constructed homes. Homes built to Platinum level earn the Energy Star label as well as qualify for the EFL Energy and Comfort Guarantee package.
One unique feature of the Environments for LivingŪ Program is the "heating & cooling guarantee," which guarantees the amount of energy needed to heat and cool your home.
For Gold and Platinum level homes, the heating and cooling guarantee is combined with a "comfort guarantee," which promises that the temperature at the location of your home's thermostat will not vary more than 3 degrees from the center of any conditioned room within the thermostat's zone.
